Getting the most from your performance review

“The performance review process is an opportunity to set goals, review key priorities and discuss opportunities to develop skills or responsibility,” explains HR Partner Leonie Griffin.

“The process is important for ensuring you have clarity and alignment about your role and responsibilities, but the best discussions are a two-way conversation between you and your manager.”

This year, we will be using a module within Employment Hero to guide the conversation. Training sessions for employees are being held on the 15th, 18th and 19th of February to how to use Employment Hero to complete the documentation. It will also provide tips on how to guide a the conversation with your manager.

“The Performance Partnership Review should be more than just a ‘tick and flick’ of paperwork. It’s a great opportunity to have a robust conversation about your career and where you would like to see yourself in the future.”

How to have a better conversation:

  • Prepare for your meeting and think about what you’d like to accomplish during the review process.
  • Consider your goals for the year ahead, and how you plan to achieve them.
  • Identify ways that you and your Manager can check in and monitor progress throughout the year.
